Where in the world is Key?
Well… I’m a lot closer than you think! For the last 2 and a half months I have been back in Washington with my family. After doing some major inner work for a few months in Europe, I decided to come home because I had a weird gut feeling. And I was right, I found out that one of the most important people in my life has been diagnosed with cancer. But on the plus side, I am extremely excited that I am home because ya girl is going to be an auntie!!! I can't wait to meet my niece pooh!!! But all in all it has been a crazy transition for me and let me tell you the mental health is mental health-ing, but I'd do anything for my girl so here I am!
When I first was getting ready to leave Austin, a lot of people wanted to know why I was so reluctant to move back to my home town and well I’ve always said this place was not healthy for me mentally and that’s true. But being there for family is something I knew I would do in a heart beat, so here I am back in the States trying to figure out how I can bring She Is High Key back to life.
For now, I will start by reintroducing myself.
Hi, my name is Aquila Fox, but y’all can call me Key. I am a 30 year old small business owner who put her business on hold to travel through Europe on a healing journey for a few months. I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA but have moved several times and lived in a few different states. Before She Is High Key, I was a college athlete, then a college softball coach. After 5 years of coaching softball at the collegiate level, I lost my job due to the pandemic in March of 2020. I decided to start She Is High Key in July of 2020 after moving to Austin, TX. I started with bath bombs first for the first half of the business being open, then expanded to bath salts, lotion, body and massage oil, lip chap and a body balm. All of the products are handmade by me and contain CBD to help with body aches and pains while calming the skin and soothing the mind.
What do I plan to do now?
Even though I am not located in ATX anymore (yes, it kills me to say), I will be opening up my online sales again! The bath bombs, however, will not be a part of the relaunch :( with all the craziness, I have not been able to go get the rest of my supplies that I left in Austin. But they will be back soon! I promise!
As a part of my relaunch I am bringing a new mission to She Is High Key and that is to bring awareness to the benefits of cannabis while going through cancer. My hope is that with every purchase we will be able to do so! Watching Grams take on this battle has been eye opening to say the least! Although she is no stranger to this battle, this time around, it is very different.
At the end of the day, I can't wait to bring my baby back to y'all and I hope you're excited too!
